About the Artist
Tomas Vrana (1986) is an award-winning fine art photographer and visual artist from Prague, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. His work is featured in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague as well as numerous private collections. Vrana’s photography has been exhibited internationally, with both group and solo exhibitions at institutions such as the National Gallery Prague and DOX Centre for Contemporary Art. Driven by a passion to explore the human condition, Vrana’s work focuses on addressing the pervasive issue of loneliness in modern society.
“I saw a lonely woman, fighting herself and the demons she cannot control. She is trapped in a golden cage of her own making, unable to escape. She keeps telling herself this is how the world is supposed to be, but deep down, she knows she won’t last much longer. Who is she calling? Her bittersweet smile — hopeful yet desperate — suggests that something deeply unsettling is about to happen.“
What about you? Have you ever felt lonely?
“Of course you have. I saw you too. I was there with you. And now I tell your story through my fine art photography. Just enter the show and see for yourself. Věřím, že skrze konfrontaci s uměleckým dílem v sobě dokážeme objevit skryté strachy a dávná traumata. A to, že je objevíme, je počátek cesty k jejich vyřešení. It’s a kind therapy without the couch – And this is one available night and day.”
Ale to není zdaleka vše. Výstava nabízí víc než jen samotné artworks.

“Tomas Vrana is known for creating work that is warm, bright, playfully absurd, subtly opulent, and a touch surreal — a celebration of the exaggerated human condition and the unique traits that make the photographs unforgettable.”
— Matt S. Co-Founder and Managing Director of Institute Artist
-
“For me, art isn’t about whether it matches my couch — it’s about whether it makes me feel something. Every piece has to spark an emotion: love, envy, fear, curiosity, or anything in between. That’s what makes a piece of artwork truly great. I’ve been a fan of Tomas Vrana’s photography for some time now, and one of his pieces caught my eye long ago. I finally have it in my home, and it’s every bit as powerful as I’d hoped.”
— Svilen T. Creative Director & Designer

“The reason I purchased Tomas's artwork is deeply personal to me. I believe in the healing power of expanded states of consciousness. The piece hanging in my living room serves as a reminder of this profound work. Divine dives into the soul and its treasures — that is the hidden secret behind this dynamic, colorful photograph.”
— Terra K. Psychologist, ACT Therapist
